"RYUICHI SAKAMOTO + SHIRO TAKATANI AMBIENT KYOTO - TOKYO" closed on October 25th. It was an immersive exhibition that gave a firsthand look into a process of precision musical engineering, where parameters were meticulously fine-tuned to craft a full sonic space. With a full speaker setup delivering pleasing spatial panning and delicately tuned EQ textures, it was pure catharsis. Personally, I found "async" profoundly encouraging; it felt as though I could sense a final, defiant spark of artistic resolve from Ryuichi Sakamoto.
