My Morning & Mic Upgrade
In the dimness of early morning, around 4 AM, the wail of sirens began, then grew, as at least four or more fire engines rapidly deployed to a fire in staggered succession. The deep, mid-to-low 'woo-woo' melody of their sirens was distinctly accompanied by a sharp, rhythmic clanging, like a staccato, high-pitched beat from a ride cymbal on a drum kit. This distinctive soundscape clearly told me of the urgency of the situation and a multi-vehicle emergency dispatch to a burning site. That's because, in Japan, the bell which is its metallic sound usually only rings for fire dispatches. (Though I only know this for Tokyo, specifically.)
I'd been stuck in the endless loop of choosing a wireless microphone, spending the entire week down that rabbit hole of options. For a long time, I've conducted lessons using just my voice without a mic because I struggle with those old intercom-style mics. Sometimes, they even started howling. Thanks to advancements driven by so many streamers and other content creators, microphones have evolved significantly. When I was planning to buy a wireless microphone at my own expense, the studio I work with mentioned they'd already been considering upgrading their somewhat outdated mixer. And finally, they replaced it with a new Soundcraft EPM model.
I've been watching product comparison and review videos, trying to figure out the best option. Now, all that's left was to click the purchase button for the wireless microphone, a 3.5mm to 1/4" dual-output AUX cable, and a TRS adapter. I finally just clicked it.
Here comes the sun.
